FIX OUR ROADS
Bodge and run is not working.
Count the repeats. Prove the waste. Fix it right.
Short-term patching frustrates residents.
Conservative-run Hampshire County Council have left our roads in tatters and littered with potholes.
The Conservative party have failed to fix our roads locally, but instead blame the Government, which they also ran for 14 years.
The Lib Dems are calling for a proper plan to get our roads fit for purpose again.
FIX OUR ROADS
We the undersigned note that HCC's strategy of temporary fixes for potholes is likely to be cost ineffective over the medium to long term due to fixes needing to be applied repeatedly to the same areas. We further note that HCC has stated that it does not currently collect data on repeat repairs in the same location, even though the OurHants Geographic reporting system should make it possible to collect and publish such data to allow a proper assessment of cost effectiveness.
Given the above we hereby call on Hampshire County Council to:
Immediately begin work to ensure repeat repair locations are logged and cost data recorded for all repairs on the sites patched.
Work with the logging software on OurHants to see if any data can in fact be extracted from the existing Geo data on repaired sites to check for repeat visits within a five year period.
