Salting and Gritting

Earlier this year we reported residents' requests for salt/grit

bins. The County Council has ordered 1250, with 200 plus for

Basingstoke. They should start to appear during October

and November.

However not all requests will be satisfied as the County

Council has a set of criteria for the placement of salt bins. For

example they will not supply them where sight lines could

be obscured, the road not steep enough or on a salting

route such as a bus route.

Requests which qualified are:-

Ferguson Close; Foyle Park; Hele Close; Holbein Close (by

school entrance);Morley Road; Parkside Rd; Raphael Close;

Ruskin Close; Turner Close.
