Landowners don't give up trying

In the Whitchurch June FOCUS the local Lib Dem campaigners said
"Please don't assume that your comments are not needed if you
agree with the planners." As we expected, the owners of site
WHIT008, the hillside behind Lynch Hill Park from London
Road to the railway, have indicated that they do not accept
that the huge site is unsuitable for housebuilding. Happily, comments
opposing development of the site were sent in by nine residents.
But Whitchurch Town Councillor Michael Fitzgerald wrote in
proposing an increase of 2,500 in the population of Whitchurch and
saying that Arnolds Farm is a prime site for development. Cllr
Fitzgerald owns Arnolds Farm.
