Keeping Ice in Basingstoke

Basingstoke’s Ice Rink urgently needed investment to remain open. The owners had been reluctant to commit funds while the future of the Leisure Park was uncertain under the previous Conservative cabinet.

Cllr Gavin James says “By negotiating an extended lease, we enabled Planet Ice to invest in the facility, securing the future of ice skating in Basingstoke for many years to come.”

Cllr Kerry Morrow, Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, said "I highly recommend supporting the Bison and seeing one of their games. It's entertaining in so many ways. Whether it's the speed, contact and skills of the players or the food/beverages, DJ and puck throw. It's a buzz."
